Programs & Schedules: Aquatics
Please register for swim lessons at the Welcome Center
during regular business hours, or online at any time. Lessons tend to fill quickly,
so enroll early.
Pool Policies
All children age three years old and younger must wear swim
diapers or reusable aquatic pants while participating in any
pool activity (no disposable diapers.)
There must be three participants in a level to hold class. The
YMCA will do their best to try and accommodate those whose
classes were under enrolled.
Parents must accompany their child to swim lessons if under
the age of 8 and stay within the pool area. If the participant
is between the ages of 9-12, the parent must stay on the
premises but does not have to stay on the pool deck.
Please be advised if a child is dropped off, they will not
receive instructional swim lessons that day.
WE DO NOT OFFER MAKE-UP CLASSES, CREDITS
OR REFUNDS AFTER THE SESSION HAS STARTED FOR ANY
CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING INCLEMENT WEATHER.
Private/Semi Private Swim Lessons
(Ages 3+)
30 minutes duration for 5 lessons, fees are per student, classes are ongoing.

Pre-School Swim Lessons
(Ages 6 months to 5 years)

Spring I Session: April 7, 2008 - May 17, 2008
Spring II Session: May 19, 2008 - June 28, 2008
Registration starts April 8th.
Mini Session I: June 16, 2008 - June 26, 2008 (M-TH)

Summer I: June 30, 2008 - August 9, 2008

Progressive Swim Lessons
(Ages 6 - 12 years)

Other AQuatics Programs
"The Barracudas" Swim Team (6-15 years old)
The swim team is designed for those who are interested in competitive swimming. Participants learn drills and techniques to help improve speed and perfect strokes. Once a month they compete against other area YMCAs.
The Barracudas- Gold Swim Team (6-15 years of age)
The Gold Swim Team offers advanced training for competitive swimmers. Participants must try out and will also compete against local YMCAs once a month. Practices Monday through Thursday, from 6:00pm - 7:00pm. Please call for try-out times.

Basic Water Rescue Class (Ages 12+ years old)
This class will provide individuals such as parents or others who might be around the water with information and skills necessary to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. this course also helps prepare individuals for aquatic emergencies by teaching them how to protect themselves while assisting others.
Class will be held May 3 from 11:00am to 3:00pm.

Lifeguard Training (Ages 15+ years old)
If you can swim 500 yards, then you can make a difference and become an American Red Cross Lifeguard! Enjoy the summer while watching the pool, and get the skills needed to save a life in this 6-day class. Job opportunities here at the Camarillo Family YMCA may follow! Register at the front desk- limited spots are available.
Class dates: May 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th from 4:00pm to 9:00pm, May 16th from 3:00pm to 8:00pm, and May 17th 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Master's Swim
This program provides the begininning swimmer, as well as the competitive athlete, a strong base of stroke improvement and training techniques in a fun and social atmosphere. Free to YMCA members ages 19 and over. Call for Community pricing.
Mondays and Wednesdays 7pm-8pm
