Parent/Child Class Descriptions*:Ages 6-36 months Shrimp & Kipper (Parent Tot I): This class is designed for beginners and toddlers of all age ranges. Children will be taught comfort in a swimming pool with a focus on developing basic swimming skills such as floating, kicking, paddling, blowing bubbles, and breath control. The children will also learn how to interact with an instructor and become accustomed to a swim lesson environment. Participants are required to wear tight fitting plastic pants or swim diapers while in the pool. Adults must accompany their child in the pool. Mon/Wed 9am Tue/Thu 3pm Sat 11am
Inia (Parent Tot II): The Parent/Tot II class is designed for toddlers with prior swim lesson experience who are ready for the next step in their progression. The children will begin to focus on grasping swimming techniques, skill retention, and having the ability to perform skills on their own. Children will learn paddling, kicking, breath control, jumping, and eventually independent floating and swimming. Participants are required to wear tight fitting plastic pants or swim diaper while in the pool. Adults must accompany their child in the pool. Mon/Wed 9am Tue/Thu 3pm Sat 11am Perch Swim Lessons*** New offering for 2-year olds*** Ages 24-36 months This class is for children who have previously attended Parent/Tot classes and are ready to take the next step in their swimming progression. The Perch class is designed to help children make a smooth transition from Parent/Tot into a Pikes class. They will learn front and back floating, kicking, dog paddle, confidence in deep water, and begin to develop breath control. Participants are required to wear tight fitting plastic pants or swim diaper while in the pool. Class enrollment will be kept to a 3:1 ratio. Mon/Wed 3pm Tue/Thu 10am
Pre-School Swim Lesson Class Descriptions*:Ages 3-5 years Pike: This class is designed for those participants with very little swimming ability. Children will work toward accomplishing kicking, front and back floating, breath control, and independent swimming. Eel: This class is designed for childdren who can swim 5-10 feet independently with their face in the water. Participants will work toward accomplishing breathing techniques, coordination of the front crawl stroke, kicking on their front as well as their back, deep water adjustment. Ray: This class is designed for children who can swim on their back and who are learning to coordinate the front crawl stroke with their side breathing. Participants will work toward accomplishing rotary breathing, backstroke, treading water and deep water swimming. Mon/Wed 4pm Tue/Thu 4pm Sat 10:30am

Progressive Swim Lesson Class Descriptions*:Ages 6 to 12 years Polliwog: This class is designed for those individuals with very little swimming ability. Participants will work toward accomplishing front and back floating, kicking, independent swimming, and comfort in deep water. Mon/Wed 3:15pm Tue/Thu 3:15pm Sat 9am, 10:30am
Guppy: This class is designed for those participants who are learning to swim the crawl stroke with their face in the water. Individuals will work toward accomplishing rotary breathing with the front crawl, back crawl, underwater swimming, and deep water confidence. Mon/Wed 3:15pm, 4pm Tue/Thu 3:15pm, 4pm Sat 9am, 10:30am
Minnow: This class is designed for participants who can swim one length of the pool performing the front crawl stroke with rotary breathing. Participants must also have a good working knowledge of the back crawl. Children will work toward accomplishing the breaststroke, elementary backstroke, endurance, and water safety skills. Mon/Wed 4pm, 4:45pm Tue/Thu 4pm, 4:45pm Sat 9:45am
Fish: This class is designed for those participants who can swim two lengths of the pool. Participants will work toward accomplishing the sidestroke, dolphin kick, and basic lifesaving skills. The front crawl stroke, backstroke, breaststroke, and elementary breaststroke continue to be perfected. Mon/Wed 4:45pm Tue/Thu 4:45pm Sat 9:45am

Private/Semi-Private Swim LessonsAges 6 months+ Classes are designed for participants who want one-on-one or small group lessons with an experienced instructor. Private lessons occur on the same days, times and schedules of our group lessons. Please arrange your own classmate(s) for semi-private lessons. Private Lessons: $25 for members, $50 for community per student, per lesson Semi-Private Lessons: $16 for members, $32 for community per student, per lesson Barracudas Swim TeamAges 6-15 years old Designed for individuals who are interested in competitive swimming, participants must be able to swim 200 yards continuously, and be proficient in 2 of the traditional strokes (ie: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, or butterfly). Participants will compete at swim meets with other area YMCAs. All new participants need to try out for team with swim team coach. Tryouts are Monday-Thursday at 5pm. Youth Practice: Mon-Thu, 4:30pm-5:30pm Intermediate Practice: Mon-Thu, 5:30pm-6:30pm Advanced Practice: Mon-Thu, 5:30pm-7pm 6-week Session Fee: $65 member/ $130 community Come support our dedicated swimmers at the Barracuda Swim Team Fundraiser on October 3rd, from 5pm-8pm. Ages 7-14 years Introduce your children to the fun and basic skills of water polo. The class will focus on the fundamentals, such as throwing, catching, dribbling, and shooting, to prepare the participants for competitive play. Participants must be able to swim 100 yards.

Master's Swim This program provides the begininning swimmer, as well as the competitive athlete, a strong base of stroke improvement and training techniques in a fun and social atmosphere. Masters swim is open to all abilities. Swimmers who join our club can also participate in competitive swim meets. Free to YMCA members ages 19 and over. Mon/Wed/Fri Pool PoliciesAll children age three years old and younger must wear swim diapers or reusable aquatic pants while participating in any pool activity (no disposable diapers.) There must be three participants in a level to hold class. The YMCA will do their best to try and accommodate those whose classes were under enrolled. Parents must accompany their child to swim lessons if under the age of 8 and stay within the pool area. If the participant is between the ages of 9-12, the parent must stay on the premises but does not have to stay on the pool deck. Please be advised if a child is dropped off, they will not receive instructional swim lessons that day. WE DO NOT OFFER MAKE-UP CLASSES, CREDITS OR REFUNDS AFTER THE SESSION HAS STARTED FOR ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, INCLUDING INCLEMENT WEATHER.
