Preschool Camps

Y-Troopers

For the budding camper in your family. Are you looking for a summer of excitement and adventure for your first time camper? Look no further... Y-Troopers is here! This onsite-based camp has activities that include swimming, and science adventures, arts, and crafts, and much more. This camp is offered in two week sessions. Please send campers with a snack and a sack lunch.

Traditional Camps

Friendship Camp

This camp offers exciting, age-appropriate adventures in the outdoors, as well as new learning experiences in small groups. Your child will participate in outdoor recreation activities, attend one or two field trips per week, develop an awareness for the environment, gain self-confidence, and make new friends. This camp offers activities guaranteed to put a smile on your camper’s face!

Ages: Children entering Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Explorer Camp

Your child will be creating happy memories and making new friends all summer long with this exciting camp that takes its campers to all sorts of exciting locations! Each week features a different theme, and is designed to give its campers a chance to experience different sports, activities, crafts, field trips, and more.

Ages: Children entering 2nd through 5th Grade

Summer School

This camp caters to the needs of those campers attending summer school in the Pleasant Valley School District. Campers will enjoy afternoons filled with games, arts, crafts, sports, and more. Transportation to and from school is not provided.

Ages: Kindergarten - 6th Grade

This camp is included in the year-round childcare pricing.

Specialty Camps

Splash Camp

Splish, Splash, we’re having a blast! This super swim camp is designed for the beginner to the intermediate swimmer. Swimming lessons and Open Swim start each day, followed by onsite entertainment and free swim.

Ages: 6-11 years old

Cheer, Dance, Tumble!

We’ve got spirit, yes we do! This highly energetic camp offers aspiring cheerleaders basic instruction in choreographed dances, various cheer routines, and the basics of tumbling.

Ages: 6-11 years old

Fun and Funky Dance

Dance the day away while learning fun, choreographed dance routines! Campers will perform these routines for their parents at the end of the week.

Ages: 5-9 years old

Performing Arts

Calling all newscasters! In this two-week session, campers will be putting together a light-hearted newscast- from start to finish! They will develop the script, secure the props, audition for roles, put together costumes, and much more. Performing Arts Camp is a two-week camp, and campers need to register for both weeks.

Ages: 7-12 years old

Arts & Crafts (Grades K-2)

Let the creativitie flow! Campers will enjoy fun activities such as games, songs, and skits, along with unique arts and crafts projects. Give a child a ball of clay, and art will be created.

Arts and Crafts (Grades 3-5)

Are you ready to create fun, interactive art projects? Then this camp is for you! Bring your energy, and the rest is up to us! Learn how to work with different mediums.

Cooking Camp

Cooking camp is a week-long exploration of culinary delights, including a field trip with lunch at a local restaurant. Your junior chef will learn about kitchen safety, cooking techniques, and nutrition. Lunch will be provided daily, and your young chef will also walk away with a cookbook that they created!

Ages: 6-10 years old

Rockin’ Rockets and Aerodynamics

We are teaming up with Mad Science to bring you this exciting camp. Campers will learn all about space and aerodynamics, and build their own Rocket!

Ages: 7-12 years old

Robots

Have you always wanted to build your own robot? Now’s your chance! Create the robot of your dreams with the help of our friends at Mad Science.

Ages: 7-12 years old

Super Detective

Become a Mad Science Detective! Go into a scientist’s lab and discover the secrets you’ve always wondered about. Try to figure out contents of a secret solution, or compare fingerprints and discover why everyone’s are different. Learn the basics of DNA and use this knowledge to solve a mystery.

Ages: 7-12 years old

Outrageous Outings

This camp is designed for participants who like to keep on the go! Campers will enjoy rock climbing, lazer tag, the beach, and much more! Come to this camp for extreme adventure!

Ages: 9-14 years old

Surf & Boogie Board

Ride the waves into this camp! Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basics of surfing and body boarding, and at the same time learn about ocean safety, the tides and the currents. Campers are encouraged to bring their own board if they have one. The YMCA has several boards, but campers will be asked to share. Sunscreen and a swimsuit are a must. Campers are at the beach all day. Beaches will vary.

Tracks ‘N Trails

For the kids who like to be on the go! Campers are given the opportunity to decide as a group what each session’s activities will include. Team building and group skills development is in focus. Space is limited, so sign up now.

Sports Camps

Pee Wee Sports Camp

This camp is a great introduction to sports and day camp. Campers will participate in sports clinics, including soccer, basketball, and tee-ball, as well as other fun camp activities, including swimming two afternoons per week.

Ages: 4-6 years old

Gymventures Camp

Tumbling, tunnels, and songs… oh my! Campers will enjoy a day filled with gymnastics, arts, crafts, and more. This camp gives campers the opportunity to express themselves through song and movement. Campers will also have the opportunity to swim two afternoons during this week of camp.

Ages: 4-7 years old

Soccer Camp

Are you ready for some fast-paced soccer fun and excitement? This is a great place for campers to learn the sport for the first time, or sharpen their skills from our qualified soccer camp staff. This camp emphasizes skill-building through drills, group discussions, scrimmages, and most of all, teamwork. The focus is to raise the self-esteem of every player through teamwork. Other great activities with this camp include a day of swimming, arts and crafts, group games and much more!

Beginning Basketball Camp

This camp is designed for the beginning basketball player looking for a summer filled with skill development, teamwork, coaching, and fun! Camp will include basketball game time, drills, and learning and practicing a variety of other skills, followed by an afternoon of either swimming at the YMCA, or other fun games~

Flag Football Camp

Ready, set, hike… Flag Football camp is waiting for you! This camp introduces children into the world of flag football. Campers will learn fundamentals, skills, drills, and get involved in team play. Participants will also have the opportunity to swim two afternoons during this week of camp.

Volleyball

Bump, set, and spike your way into this camp. If you love volleyball, then this is the camp for you! Campers will learn the basic fundamentals of how to play volleyball , and develop the skills necessary to play this fast-paced sport.

Ages: 7-14 years old

Intermediate Basketball Camp

Want to brush up or learn some new skills? Then check out this basketball camp designed for the experienced ball player. Campers will enjoy fun competition, skill enhancement, and a variety of drills, followed by an afternoon of either swimming or game time.

Resident Camps

Sequoia Lake Youth and Teen Camps

Come away with the YMCA August 3rd-10th, 2008!

These separate camps are located in Miramonte, California, near Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on beautiful Sequoia Lake. Campers share cabins with friends and meet new cabin mates from other Channel Islands YMCAs! Cabin activitesled by both campers and counselors follow our Character Counts! Program. Some activities include archery, crafts, lake swimming, hiking, a rock climbing wall, campfires, the YMCA Rags Program and non-denominational chapel. In the afternoon, campers will spend time with their specialty group.

Campers stay in rustic cabins, eat family style with their cabin in the dining hall, and enjoy all that camp has to offer, plus indoor plumbing! This all takes place in a safe, fun setting with trained, caring professional staff and volunteers.

Youth: 4th-6th grades

CIT (Counselor in Training)

This is a program for anyone interested in being a member for other campers.

Ages: 14-17 years old
