Families come in all sizes and shapes and so do YMCA Family Programs. Our programs strengthen family ties by offering a safe, welcoming environment for kids and parents to communicate, cooperate, and have fun. What is Y Kids Run? A free program where children will run/walk throughout the school year and log their mileage throughout the duration of the program.
How will Y Kids Run work? Children will keep a personal log to document their progress. To assist kids in reaching their goal, they will be able to log miles from any foot race, sports practice, PE class, after school activity, or fun activity at home with family and friends. Parents, teachers, or an additional adult supervisor are encouraged to support and verify the child's participation. The logs will be collected throughout the school year. All logs are printable via the YMCA website.
What is the duration of Y Kids Run? Monday, August 19th to April 25th, 2015 at the Lompoc Family YMCA during Healthy Kid’s Day.
How to register? anyone can print off the registration form and return it to the Lompoc Family YMCA at 201 W. College Ave.
We hope you will encourage children in your life to participate in Y Kids Run. It is important to develop healthy and active lifestyle habits in children at a young age so that they will be accustom. Family Events are for the whole family. We take outings, learn new sports, have community scavenger hunts and as always, have a blast. Dances have dinners provided as well as a free picture booth to remember your night with your loved one. All ages are welcome and bonding is encouraged. This is a program designed with your kids in mind. Children spend time without their parents in a controlled environment. All staff are CPR and first aid certified and trained to take care of your children. Dinner is provided with age appropriate games and activities. Children should be dressed comfortably and ready to play in kids gym. Get ready for a night of free time for you, and fun for your children. We sometimes wind down the night with a movie, so pillows and blankets are welcomed. So enjoy yourselves parents, and know your children are having a fun night! We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. That’s why, through the Y, youth are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. We offer dances, health classes, and have clinics on new sports in the area. Want to spruce up your resume for college?
