Giving back and providing support to our neighbors
We know that when we work as one, we move people and communities forward. That's why we are committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults and families to give, join in or advocate in the name of stronger communities.
At the Y, building a strong community begins at home. The Y helps young people develop cultural competencies, diverse populations connect to the community, and individuals gain access to life-changing resources and support. As an interconnected community network, the Y has the resources and solutions to build bridges and make our changing communities stronger.
Volunteers are always welcomed at the Lompoc Family YMCA! If you should find yourself interested in one of our open volunteer position, then please feel free to fill out our interest sheet. You can then turn your interest sheet in to our main facility at 201 West College Ave in Lompoc in front of the aquatic center. Our Directors will then contact you as soon as possible, but you can also contact us at LO.Volunteer@ciymca.org or call 805.736.3483 for any questions or to check the status of your interest sheet.

Annual Campaign - Community members from Lompoc work together to raise money in six weeks for our scholarship fund to ensure no family if turned away from any of our programs. All dollars raised stay right here in Lompoc and do not go to any administration fees.
Third Grade Learn To Swim -
National Healthy Kid's Day - this is a free community event where we invite vendors and community partner to help promote healthy eating and active play to reduce the obesity rate in our communities youths. We also have fun activities for the whole family to enjoy, free class demos, and give aways!
Relay for Life - the Y Winners raise money year round and participate in the Relay For Life event. Please contact Teresa McIntyre if you would like to be a part of the team.
Back to School Drive - The Y asks its Y members to donate school supplies, so that the Y can donate these items to the school district to be distributed to the children in need in our community.
Halloween Costume Collection - The YMCA collects last year’s Halloween costumes for families that may not be able to afford Halloween costumes for the current year. The Y asks community members, YMCA members, and business to donate any costumes they will not need to the cause. Families who need to participate in this event would need to fill out an open doors application. Once approved you will receive an invite to the day of the event to shop for costumes for your little ones.
Halloween Costume Shopping Event - Due to a collection drive in September the Y is able to help out needing families who may not be able to purchase brand new Halloween Costumes for their children. All qualifying families will receive an invitation from the Y with day of the event on it. Any family who needs to participate in this event can fill out an open doors application to see if they qualify.
Spooky Hallway - All the childcare staff work together to put up a spooky hallway out front of our YMCA for all families in our community to enjoy. It’s free, fun, and safe!
Canned Food Drive - the Y collect barrels of non-perishable food items in collaboration with the Santa Barbara Food Bank to help feed our needy communities.

Livestrong at the YMCA - LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a small-group program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. Through this program YMCAs are creating communities among cancer survivors and guiding them through safe physical activity, helping them build supportive relationships, and reducing stress – leading to an improved quality of life.
Bell Ringing - in collaboration with the Salvation Army the Y rings the bell out front local business to raise dollars for the Salvation Army Charity. It is usually one Saturday a year from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00pm. Contact Stephanie Saucedo at 805.736.3483 if you would like to be a bell ringer.
