Y–ADVENTURE GUIDES

Time is a problem for most families, especially single parent families or where both parents work. The YMCA has designed its parent/child programs with boys and girls in kindergarten though third grades and their parents in mind. The emphasis is on spending quality time together! Get involved with a group that seeks new experiences and adventures, learns new skills and provides an atmosphere in which you can grow with your child. Neighborhood groups are formed and meet monthly in members’ homes. Activities include crafts, games and values training. Often the groups plan outings, field trips and camp-outs both in the area as well as all over the state. These programs set aside a “special time” for the parent and child to learn from each other and to develop a foundation and communication that can steady the child through the difficult years of growing up.

  • Y–PAPOOSES (3 and 4 year-old boys and girls with either or both parents)
  • Y–GUIDES (K–3rd grade boys and fathers)
  • Y–PRINCESSES (K–3rd grade girls and fathers)
  • Y–BRAVES (K–3rd grade boys and mothers)

Program begins in the Fall.

FAMILY SKATE NIGHT

Family Skate Nights are held on selected evenings and offer fun for the whole family. Family members can skate to music, play games and learn the basics of in-line skating. Come gear up, roll out, and join the crowd. Skates and safety gear are available.
