Programs & Schedules: Parent/Child
Y-Adventure Guides | Family Skate Night
Y–ADVENTURE GUIDES
Time is a problem for most families, especially
single parent families or where both parents
work. The YMCA has designed its parent/child
programs with boys and girls in kindergarten
though third grades and their parents in mind.
The emphasis is on spending quality time
together! Get involved with a group that seeks
new experiences and adventures, learns new
skills and provides an atmosphere in which
you can grow with your child.
Neighborhood groups are formed and meet
monthly in members’ homes. Activities include
crafts, games and values training. Often the
groups plan outings, field trips and camp-outs
both in the area as well as all over the state.
These programs set aside a “special time” for
the parent and child to learn from each other
and to develop a foundation and
communication that can steady the child
through the difficult years of growing up.
