TEEN CHOICES, PASS IT ON!
At the Montecito Family YMCA we encourage youth to become
actively involved in programs that encourage responsible,
positive lifestyles and build assets and relationships in their
lives. We are committed to developing character through our
Character Counts program and the YMCA’s tradition of healthy
spirit, mind and body.
Backpacking, weekend camping trips, river rafting, ball games,
skiing, snowboarding, youth nights, movies and more...
sometimes just giving youth a fun experience meets the YMCA
mission.

Leader-in-Training /
Counselor-in-Training
The YMCA is looking for a few dedicated, service-oriented
teens to join our qualified staff team as Leaders-in-Training
& Counselors-in-Training. Enthusiasm, willingness to learn,
responsibility, and a genuine love for kids are prerequisites
for LITs & CITs. They will receive an extensive training
program that teaches YMCA values, leadership, and
communication skills. They will participate in fund-raising
projects and take part in team building activities which
include rock climbing and sea kayaking at Morro Bay State
Park. Upon completion of training they
may apply to assist at summer day camp
and preschool. This hands-on training
will provide valuable job skills that last a
lifetime. Most of all, summer will be fun
and rewarding.

Dates: Beginning in April
Training Cost: $250
Hands-on experience, $450 for the
