Program Areas
Active Older Adults
 |
At the Channel Islands YMCA active older adults have a chance to grow in spirit, mind and body. New friends and new opportunities add joy to life, and the Y also gives seniors a chance to share their time and talents with others, such as children and teens. |
Aquatics
 |
The YMCA is America's favorite swimming instructor. Participants of all ages have for generations learned water survival skills while discovering fun, fitness, and self-confidence in a YMCA pool. |
Camps
 |
YMCA summer camps bring hundreds of children and youth together each year to practice new skills, make friends, and learn the value of cooperation at YMCA day and resident camps. There is a large variety of camp offered to provide a wonderful fun-filled and enriching summer. |
Childcare
 |
Our child care staff is expertly trained to help children grow to be happy, responsible adults. Our intentional activities at all of our child care sites are designed to demonstrate our commitment to enduring moral values and quality education. |
Family Activities
 |
Families are strengthened at the YMCA by playing together and enjoying many fitness programs that develop and promote good health. Our branches offer an exciting variety of parent-child programs designed to foster caring family relationships. |
Health & Well-Being
 |
Health and Well-Being are essential goals of the Channel Islands YMCA. We believe there are a wide variety of ways to achieve these goals and we offer a wide variety of programs at all fitness levels that help our members achieve total wellness in spirit, mind, and body. |
Sports & Recreation
 |
At the YMCA members are provided with the opportunity to develop good values and learn skills of cooperation and teamwork while they participate in a variety of sports activities intentionally designed to provide attention as they learn new skills and find new confidence in their abilities. |
Youth & Teen
 |
At the Channel Islands YMCA we value our teen members. We believe that given the right opportunity teens can be an essential and valuable part of our community. We strive to offer a variety of programs that assist our teens as they transition from youth into young adulthood. |
Youth & Family Services
The Youth and Family Services Branch of the Channel Islands YMCA is dedicated to offering much needed services to the youth of Santa Barbara and its immediate surrounding areas. Youth and Family Services often play the role of a parent for youth whose parents are not involved in their lives for a number of reasons. These services include:
- Noah’s Anchorage Youth Crises Shelter - providing temporary shelter, crises resolution, and drop-in counseling to runaway, homeless and at- risk youth (ages 10-17) and their families.
- Street Outreach Program- an outreach program targeting youth currently living homeless on the streets of Santa Barbara.
- Transitional Age Youth Program- providing assistance and guidance as youth transition from being considered youth into adults.
- Isla Vista Teen Center offers quality, comprehensive, bi-lingual after-school programs to high-risk youth in the Isla Vista area.
