Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. How do I get to online registration?
A. Click on the online registration link from the YMCA website home page.

Q. What types of programs are available online?
A. At this time, youth sports programs are available online. Aquatics and other special programs will be available soon. Membership to the YMCA is not available to purchase online. Please visit the branch location for more information on becoming a YMCA member.

Q. Why does it say "Fee Not Setup, Contact Branch?"
A. Some of the YMCA branches allow you to sign up for classes without a Facility or program membership, but some of the branches require that you are a Facility or Program member. See the YMCA branches listed below for their requirements:

In order to sign up for a Program or Facility membership, please visit the location you wish to join for more information.

Q. Does my membership expiration date make a difference?
A. Yes. If your membership expires before the program ends, you will be charged the non-member rate for the program. You should renew your membership with your home YMCA branch, then register online.

Q. Is online registration secure?
A. Yes. The online registration site will secure your private information using a VeriSign SSL certificate.

Q. What information do I need to login to online registration?
A. You will need to know the facility access number from the back of the primary adult's membership card and the date of birth of the primary adult.

Q. What is a primary adult?
A. A primary adult is the person on your YMCA account whose member number ends with the two digit code -00 (dash zero zero).

Q. What do I do if I don't have a membership card?
A. If you do not have a membership card, you will click a line that says "otherwise" and fill out the attached form in its entirety. That form will be emailed to your YMCA branch. Once your branch enters your information into the system, you will be contacted with your login information.

Please note: After entering in each child’s information, you will need to click on the “Add Child” link. This action includes the child in the email form that is sent to your YMCA branch.

Q. What should I do if I try to login and I get an error message?
A. You should try again with a different adult's facility access number and date of birth. If you still get an error message, contact your branch to find out who on your YMCA account is the primary adult.

Q. Do I have to login in order to see what programs are available?
A. No. You can look for programs without logging in.

Q. Do I have to login in order to register for programs?
A. Yes.

Q. What do I do if I have a special situation or want to sign up for a program that does not appear online?
A. If you have a special situation or want to sign up for a program that does not appear online, you must go to the YMCA branch to complete your registration.

Q. How do I search for programs?
A. You can search for programs by branch (ex. Santa Barbara, Ventura, etc.), category (ex. Aquatics, Youth/Adult Sports), age, keyword (ex. Swim Team) and program number. For the branch, category and age, you will be able to select from a list.

If you search by program number it must be 5 digits. if the program number is shorter, place a zeros in front of the code to make it 5 digits.

Q. Can I search for a program based on a specific day and time?
A. Yes. You have the option of doing an advanced search which will allow you to select date ranges, time ranges, day(s) of the week and gender.

Q. What payment options to I have for online registration?
A. Your payment options for online registration are Mastercard, Visa, and American Express.

Q. At what point is my registration complete and my space reserved?
A. Your registration is complete and your space is reserved when you have paid for your selected program(s).

Q. How long do I have to complete my registration(s)?
A. You cannot allow your computer to be idle for more than 10 minutes. If you are idle for more than 10 minutes, you will lose your space and you will have to start your registration process over.

Q. Can I sign up more than one person at a time?
A. As long as the individuals you want to sign up are part of your YMCA account, you can register for more than one person in one session.

Q. What proof will I have that I registered and paid for a program?
A. You will receive an email confirmation that you will bring to the YMCA branch on the first day of classes.

Q. Can I cancel a program online and receive a refund?
A. No. All cancellations must take place at the YMCA branch as well as credit/refund requests.

Q. What is the credit/refund policy for online registration?
A. The credit/refund policy for online registration is identical to the branch registration credit/refund policy. Please contact your YMCA branch for their specific refund policy.
