Youth camp Gaines and teen camp redwood

These separate camps are located in Camp in Miramonte, California,
near Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on beautiful Sequoia Lake.  Campers share cabins with friends and meet new cabin mates from other Channel Islands YMCAs! Cabin activities lead by both campers and counselors follow our Character Counts! Program.  Some activities include archery, crafts, lake swimming, hiking, and a rock climbing wall, campfires, the YMCA Rags Program and a nondenominational chapel.  In the afternoon campers will spend their time with their specialty group.  Space is limited in each theme, so pick wisely and have the best week of your life!  Campers will stay in rustic cabins, eat family style with their cabin in the dining hall, and enjoy all that camp has to offer plus indoor plumbing.  This all takes place in a safe and fun setting with trained, caring volunteers and professional staff.

If your financial need is greater than the subsidized rates above, please do not hesitate to complete a financial aid application and request a greater scholarship amount.  We provide more significant scholarships to families that demonstrate the need for assistance.

Teen whitewater adventure caravan

Campers experience extreme caravan camping! Each day is a new event of activity! Teens will trek across the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier #39, experience a Ropes Course, ice skate on the 1960 Winter Olympics rink, enjoy river rafting and swimming at the beach on Lake Tahoe and the shores of the American River. Campers will set up camp, cook meals, and experience the outdoors in Northern California. Campers provide their own tents for rustic living and shared cooking, kitchen duties, campfires and more!

Family Camp Sequoia

The summer blends with high altitude freshness to provide the prefect climate. Activity abounds on every front. The magic of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is vividly evident in the greens, red and blues as Giant Sequoias silhouette against a backdrop of clean, clear air.

Camp Sequoia promises to be a week of adventure and fun for the entire family. Spend your days hiking, swimming, canoeing, rock climbing, or relaxing. Group activities, arts and crafts and campfires are planned, so don’t miss this fun family vacation opportunity.

Summer Day cAmps

Ten fun-filled weeks of themed camps will provide an exciting and enriching summer for your child! Choose the appropriate age group for your child or teen to participate in - Discovery, Adventure, Challenge, or Leadership Camp. A non-refundable $25 deposit is required at time of registration to reserve a space in camp. Remaining fees are due two weeks prior to the beginning of each session. Discovery Camp (entering Kindergarten)

A fun filled day camp program for children ages 4 ½ - 5 years old. Children will participate in arts and crafts activities, sports and games, swimming, and field trips to local parks and museums. This program is designed for young children who may be new to camp. Our caring staff focuses on making each child feel welcome and special, and emphasizes making new friends and developing positive character.

• Ages: Entering Kindergarten
• Fees: $145 per week (including $25 non-refundable deposit required to reserve spot)
• Time: 7:30am - 6:00pm

Adventure Camp (entering 1st – 3rd grade)

Adventure Camp is packed full of energy and fun for the whole summer. Camp activities include field trips, swimming, arts and crafts, sports and games, drama and music. Emphasizing cooperation, building quality friendships, and Character Counts!, Adventure Camp will leave lasting impressions for a lifetime!

• Ages: Entering 1st – 3rd grade
• Fees: $145 per week (including $25 non-refundable deposit required to reserve spot)

Challenge Camp (entering 4th – 6th grade)

Your adventuring child will enjoy a fun filled summer creating new friendships, enhancing self-esteem and gaining a better understanding of why Character Counts! Explore everything the YMCA and the rest of Santa Barbara have to offer, including drama, arts and crafts, sports, museum trips, local parks and beaches, and swimming. Campers will make new friends while hanging out with old friends, and make memories that will last a lifetime!

• Ages: entering 4th – 6th grade

Leadership Camp (entering 7th and 8th grade)

Leadership camp is designed for children entering Jr. High. Explore the environment, develop leadership skills, organize and execute a fitness program, take road trips to beaches, local lakes, and other YMCAs, participate in community service projects, make new friends, and have a blast!

• Ages: entering 7th and 8th grade
• Fees: $145 per week (including $25 non-refundable deposit required to reserve spot)
• Time: 7:30am – 6:00pm

Basketball Camp

Campers receive instruction on basketball fundamentals, cool
down in the pool, and participate in other recreational activities.
Participants provide their own lunch.

• Ages: Rookies (1st-3rd grade)

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Flag Football Camp

This camp will teach the fundamentals of flag football &
participate in daily plyometric exercises. Campers will also
go swimming and participate in other recreational activities.
Participants provide their own lunch.

• Ages: Rookies (1st-3rd grade)
  Champs (4th-6th grade)
  
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  
• Fee: Member $100

• Weeks offered: Week 2 (no camp on July 4th)

Soccer Camp

Campers will learn soccer skills, enjoy swimming, and other
recreational activities. Participants provide their own lunch.
Some days will include trips to the park and some days will
feature indoor soccer.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Tennis Camp

Campers will receive tennis instruction followed by a cool down
in the pool or other recreational activities. Participants must
provide their own lunch.

Baseball Camp

Campers are taught the fundamentals of baseball using safe
equipment. Campers will also go swimming and participate
in other recreational activities. Participants provide their own
lunch. Price includes tickets and transportation to the Dodger
Game vs. Colorado on 8/21. Campers may take occasional
trips to the park.

• Ages: Rookies (1st-3rd grade)
  Champs (4th-6th grade)
  
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  
• Fee: Member $135

• Weeks offered: Week 9

Advanced Basketball Camp

This camp is intended to serve children who are looking to improve
their basketball skills as an individual as well as within the
team concept. Please do not sign up your child for this camp
unless they have a definite interest (not daycare). Campers will
also go swimming and participate in other recreational activities.
Participants provide their own lunch.

• Ages: 3rd-8th grade
  
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
  
• Fee: Member $145
  Community Member $175
• Weeks offered: Week 7

Sports of All Sorts

Campers will learn skills in various sports. There will be a
focus on one sport each day. Campers will also have the opportunity
to swim and participate in other recreational activities.
Participants provide their own lunch. Camps run in one-week
sessions.

Itty Bitty Camp

This camp is intended for our younger campers who are preparing
for Kindergarten. This camp will allow the children to
learn about the sport of their choice, make new friends, enjoy
recreational activities (swimming pool or kids gym), and receive
a snack.

• Ages: Entering Kindergarten
  
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday
  9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (Basketball), or
  1:00-4:00 p.m. (Soccer)
  
• You may choose one camp (both camps in one day not recommended for this age group; there will not be any programs from noon-1:00 p.m. for your child).
  
• Fee: Member $70
  Community Member $90
• Weeks offered: Week 2 (no camp July 4th)

Extended Care

For campers who enroll in our part day sports camps, but need
extended care hours, we are providing this option. Campers will
participate in a structured activity with supervision throughout
the day.

• Ages: 1st-6th grade
  
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30-9:00 a.m. &
  4:00-6:00 p.m.
  
• Weekly Fee: Member $20
  Community Member $30
  
• Their will be no pro-rated charges for extended care!
