Day Camp
Ten fun-filled weeks of exciting activities will provide an enriching and meaningful summer for your child. The YMCA camps have applied for National accreditation through the American Camping Association this summer. Look for details of weekly themes and field trips soon. Space is limited so sign up early. A registration fee of $20 and a deposit of $20 on each weekly session will hold a place for your child this summer. The registration fee is waived for siblings. Those that sign up before April 14th will receive a free YMCA Lunch box. You may register at the YMCA service center beginning Monday March 31st.

Camp Adventure
Grades: K-3rd
Age appropriate activities, moderately paced
Camp Challenge
Grades: 4th - 7th
Pace is faster with additional activities and excursions off campus.
Leader in Training Program - 8th Graders have the opportunity to be involved in the Camp Challenge Program, yet engaged in Camp Adventure to receive specialized skills focused around leadership, responsibility, and training towards the CIT program. Camp Challenge costs applied.
Couselor in Training Programs - High School Teens experience on-th-job training during summer day camp program. Participants work along side of counselors in Camp Adventure, which is designed to help prepare them to be a camp couselor. Application and acceptance for program and a prgram fee of 1/2 of camp fee will be required. Please call Michelle at the YMCA for more information.
Youth & Teen Away Camps
Youth Camp Gaines & Teen Camp Redwood
These separate camps are located near Sequoia and Kings Canyon national Parks on beautiful Sequoia Lake in Miramonte, California. Camper share cabins with friends and meet new cabin mates from other Channel Islands YMCAs! Cabin activities led by both camper and couselors follow our Character Counts Program. Some activities include archery, crafts, lake swimming, kinking and a rock climbing wall, campfires, the YMCA Rags & Leathers program, and non denominational chapel. Campers choose different themed activites each day to create a diverse cammp experience and have the best week of their life! Campers will stay in cabins, eat family style with their cabin mates in the dining hall, and enjoy all that YMCA camp has to offer.
Teen Caravan
Cruise up the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway with the YMCA Teen Adventure Caravan! Each day is a new event or activity! Exploring Hearst Castle, Big Sure, Monterey Aquarium, surging, San Francisco and river rafting are some of the activities the teens will experience. Campers will set up camp, cook meals and experience the outdoors in Northern California. Campers provide their own tents for rustic living with shared cooking, K.P. duties, campfires and more!!
Scholarships
It is the policy of the Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA to assist in providing services for any person who desires to participate regardless of ability to pay the standard fee.
