Youth & Teen
introduction to Track & Field

Clinic: Begins August 9, 2010.
Track & Field Program: Spring 2011

This clinic is designed to introduce and reinforce fundamental Track and Field skills as well as demonstrate unique techniques, and conditioning exercises. Track and Fielders of all skill levels, from beginner to experienced, will benefit from this clinic.  Click here for more information.


Youth Wrestling

This program is designed to introduce and reinforce fundamental wrestling skills and also demonstrate unique wrestling moves, techniques, and conditioning exercises. Wrestlers of all skill levels, from beginner to experienced, will benefit from this program.

Youth Flag Football

Beginning to Intermediate football enthusiasts are invited to participate in a 6-week flag football league played on the YMCA lower field.  Skills will include running, passing, kicking, drills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Youth and Teen Tennis
Learning should be fun so age appropriate games & activities are taught with a focus on the following: backhand, forehand, serve, volley, court awareness, rules & etiquette.


Itty-Bitty Sports

A non-competitive introduction to popular sports for the Itty-Bitty members. Kids can develop basic skills, learn team play, and have FUN!  Sessions offer a variety of sports, including soccer, basketball and flag football.

Gym-Ballet

An exciting class that combines the fun of creative movement with ballet basics.  Boys and Girls ages 3-5 explore movement and rhythm while at the same time learning invaluable social skills.  Tights and leotards or sweat suits preferred, ballet slippers are not required for class.

Santa Ynez Valley Youth Recreation
Basketball League

January-March 2011 

 The Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA and the Santa Ynez Valley Youth Recreation Basketball Program are committed to excellence in athletics. We are dedicated to Pursuing Victory with Honor, to adhering to the rules of competition and sportsmanship, and to displaying the six Pillars of Character (trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, caring, fairness and citizenship) on and off the court.


Home School PE program

Fulfill schoole PE requirements at the YMCA!  Home scholed students ages 13-17 are invited to participate in YMCA Physical education programs.  Options included in a family or teen memberships are: group exercise classes, cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, basketball, lap and recreational swimming.  Fee based options include: swim team or Kung Fu.  Prior to participation, students are required to attend a one time Teen Total Helath Certification.  Students will be signed off by a staff member.  Morning and evening guidance is available by appointment with a Total Health Coach.
