Itty-Bitty Sports

A non-competitive introduction to popular sports for the itty-bitty members. Kids can develop basic skills, learn team play, and have FUN!

Gym-Ballet

An exciting New class that combines the fun of creative movement with vallet basics.  Children explore movement and rhythm while at the same time learning invaluable social skills.  This class is for boys & girls ages 3-5. Tights and leotards or sweat suits preferrd, ballet slippers not required for class.


Kenpo Karate

A physical fitness class for youth promoting mental awareness, teamwork, self-respect, self defense, self-reliance, and inner peace.

Basketball League

Boy & Girls Ages 7-14 meet Saturdays January 5- March, 8 2008
at the SYVUHS New & Old Gyms (no games on Feb 2nd) . 
Teams are divided into age groups 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11&12, 13 &14.  Practices for 7 & 8 year olds are held Saturdays before the game. Practices during the week for ages 9 & older are encouraged.

On-site registration & Skill Assessment Day
Saturday December 8 SYVUHS Old Gym.

7-8 year olds assessed 2-3:00 PM
9-10 yr olds assessed 3- 4:00 PM
11-14 yr olds assessed 4-5:00 PM

Registration Deadline December 9th.
Teams created the week of December 10-14.

Youth Sports Camps

These half-day camps offer campers the ability to learn the game for the first time, sharpen their skills for the upcoming season, or just spend a week having a ball. Activities and drills are designed to accommodate all age and skill levels.

Try the whole spectrum of sports-sign up for all 4!


Youth and Government

A model legislature/court program that offers a one of a kind experience for High School students in grades 10 - 12. Each participant will take an active role in the program. Students become Senators, Assemblymen, Lobbyists, TV Reporters, Judges, Commissioners, Newspaper Journalists, and more.

The program includes 2 training and election conferences and a five-day model Legislature / Court conference in Sacramento, along with weekly meetings.


Teen Total Health Certification

Teen members ages 12-15 must attend, and pass, the YMCA "Teen Total Health Certification" in order to have access to the Total Health Center & aerobics classes.  This 2 hour course is taght by certified YMCA Health and Fitness personnel.  Participation in this course is by advance registration only.


Home School PE program

Fulfill schoole PE requirements at the YMCA!  Home scholed students ages 13-17 are invited to participate in YMCA Physical education programs.  Options included in a family or teen memberships are: group exercise classes, cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, basketball, lap and recreational swimming.  Fee based options include: swim team or Kung Fu.  Prior to participation, students are required to attend a one time Teen Total Helath Certification.  Students will be signed off by a staff member.  Morning and evening guidance is available by appointment with a Total Health Coach.
