Child Care

YMCAs are the nation’s largest provider of child care. We provide high-quality and affordable programs that are family-centered and values-based to nurture children’s healthy development.

With today’s demands on working parents, more and more parents are seeking out trusted resources to watch their children while they are at work. Each branch within the Channel Islands YMCA offers school-age child care at local school sites, offering working parents a safe haven for their children outside of regular school hours.

At the Y, we believe that Before and After School Programs should provide every child with a well-balanced, comfortable, and nurturing program to continue their education while making new friends and enjoying FUN supervised activities!

Here's 10 facts about our Before & After School programs for you to ensure your child is in a safe, thriving, and encouraging environment:

  • Our programs nurture soft skills development. We help kids learn about self-control, conflict resolution, social skills and more!
  • Our programs are affordable. Financial assistance and scholarships are available for qualifying families, ensuring that no child is left out of care due to financial constraints.
  • Our programs are flexible. We have full or partial options for before and after school that meet your needs.
  • Our programs are well-rounded. Daily homework help, arts education, STEM-related activities, physical activity and nutrition education are just a few of the things your child will be exposed to at the Y.
  • Our programs offer convenience. All before and after school sites are located either directly on the school campus or at your local Y. Some sites conveniently offer transportation services.
  • Our staff are positive role models. Our staff will engage your child in activities that focus on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, the core values of the Y.
  • Our programs are committed to healthy lifestyles. All sites have adopted Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards (HEPA). Your child will be eating healthy snacks and receive nutrition education.
  • Our programs put safety first. Have peace knowing your child will be in a licensed, safe, facility to go before and after school. Your child is always supervised by high-quality staff.
  • Our programs are FUN. Crafts, activities, friendships, laughter- your child will enjoy a daily dose of FUN!
  • Our programs highlight physical activity. Outdoor play time is part of our program so your child will have plenty of opportunity to burn some extra energy!
