Sequoia Lake Youth and Teen Camps
Come away with the YMCA August 3-10th, 2008
These separate camps are located in Miramonte, California near Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks on beautiful Sequoia Lake. Campers share cabins with friends and meet new cabin mates from other Channel Islands YMCAs! Cabin activities led by both campers and counselors follow our Character Counts! Program. Some activities include archery, crafts, lake swimming, hiking, and rock climbing wall, campfires, the YMCA Rags Program and non denominational chapel. Campers will stay in rustic cabins, eat family style with their cabin, in the dining hall, and enjoy all that camp has to offer plus indoor plumbing. This all takes place in a safe and fun setting with trained, caring volunteers and professional staff.
Dates: August 3-10
Ages: Youth- Entering 4th-6th grades
Teen: Entering 7th-10 grades
Fees:
Channel Islands YMCA has introduced a tiered pricing structure to enable families with financial challenges the same quality camp experience for their children as the families without the need for support. Through the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, our annual fundraiser Campaign for Youth raises thousands of dollars to help ensure this valuable program will remain subsidized. Realizing that families have different abilities to pay, we’ve instituted a voluntary three tier pricing program.
Price A closely accounts for the true costs including transportation, staffing and facility fees. This price is voluntary, and in no way influences the experience campers receive. Price B & C is our historically subsidized rate, and doesn’t reflect the true cost of operating camp.
Price A=$ 525 Price B =$500 Price C= $475
If your financial need is greater than the subsidized rates above, please do not hesitate to complete a financial aid application and request a greater scholarship amount. We provide more significant scholarships to families that demonstrate the need for assistance.
Camp Rally: July 30th, 2008, 6:00 p.m.
Location: Ventura Family YMCA

All camps are American Camping Association (ACA) Accredited and staff is trained in CPR, 1st AID, child supervision, and child abuse prevention. For information on next summer's camp dates and fees contact the Youth Programs Director at x16.
