The Ventura Family YMCA offers two types childcare services:

1. On-site Child Watch (available to Family facility members who need childcare during workouts)
   
2. Child care (State Licensed and ACA accredited before and after school programs)

On-Site Child Watch

Let the YMCA experts watch after your little one while you enjoy a great workout.  A stimulating, creative atmosphere that introduces your child to arts & crafts, dramatic play, and toys appropriate to their motor skill level.  Up to 2 hours of service is available to Family Facility Members.  Parents must remain in the YMCA facility while using this service. Learn More

Child care

The Ventura Family YMCA offers seven options for child care.  Off-site locations are licensed by the State of California and comply with American Camping Association (ACA) guidelines.

Summer Camp and Program Guide

This coming summer send your child to camp at the YMCA.  The YMCA has a variety of choices to suit every child and parent's needs.  Just choose the summer program that works best for you. 

Summer options through our YMCA camp programs are Summer Child care (Day Camp), Summer Child care ((Specialty Camp) & Resident Camp (Away Camp). 

Summer Child Care (Day Camp)
K - 8th grade

Our YMCA Summer Child care Day Camps are for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Kids discover hidden talents and develop new hobbies through age appropriate activities such as arts & crafts, organized games, swimming, music, and field trips within our community in our Day Camp Program.  Camp Olympics, skating, and bowling are just a sample of the many activities campers will experience.  Each day will provide participants with an opportunity to learn new skills and develop friendships that will last a lifetime.  Day Camps exceed all American Camping Association (ACA) requirements.  Learn More

Specialty camps are unique week long camps designed to cater to a child's specific interest. Lots of parents choose this option in conjunction with the summer childcare day camp to spice up their child's summer.

The Ventura Family YMCA offers a wide range of school-age childcare programs to meet your family's needs.  Sites are conveniently located on school campuses in the Ventura Unified & El Rio School Districts.  The YMCA is the only licensed on-site childcare provider on these elementary schools and all programs are regulated under California Community Care Licensing and exceed all requirements mandated by the state.  Learn More

After the Bell Middle School Program

• After the Bell Parent Handbook

An after school program designed for Middle School students in Ventura. This program is held five days a week after school until 6:00p.m. Snacks are provided daily. The teen center has space for homework, art projects, billiards, basketball, football, air hockey, Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit, and much more.  The program is held on-site at the Ventura Family YMCA Teen Center. The Ventura Family YMCA is pleased to announce the launch of its two new Kindergarten Care Programs and the continuation of the program at our other two sites.
