On-Site Childcare | Off-Site Childcare

The Ventura Family YMCA offers two types childcare services:

1. On-site Childcare (available to Family facility members who need childcare during workouts)
   
2. Off-site Childcare (licensed after school programs located on various school campuses)

On-Site Childcare

• Children's Corner and Adventure Zone Hours

Let the YMCA experts watch after your little one while you enjoy a great workout.  A stimulating, creative atmosphere that introduces your child to arts & crafts, dramatic play, and toys appropriate to their motor skill level.  Up to 2 hours of service is available to Family Facility Members.  Parents must remain in the YMCA facility while using this service. 

Children's Corner is an area where youth 6 weeks-6 years of age are supervised by loving staff who will care for and play with your child.  Your child will enjoy both indoor and outdoor play.  We offer art & crafts, activities, games, story time, and old fashion fun!

Adventure Zone caters to youth 6-13 years of age.  Our staff keeps your kids active and safe while you relax and enjoy your workout.  Children are challenged by a 3-level maze, basketball hoops, foosball table, and more!  It's a great place to do homework or just relax.

The Ventura Family YMCA offers a wide range of school-age childcare programs to meet your family's needs.  Sites are conveniently located on school campuses in the Ventura Unified & El Rio School Districts.  The YMCA is the only licensed on-site childcare provider on these elementary schools and all programs are regulated under California Community Care Licensing and exceed all requirements mandated by the state. 

The Ventura Family YMCA currently operates 4 childcare sites at the following elementary schools.

PLANS

The Ventura Family YMCA offers a childcare option to fit everyone'e needs.

All Year Plan

Locations:  Poinsettia, Elmhurst, & Rio Del Norte

The All Year Plan option is a 12 month payment plan which covers before & after school childcare, school breaks, minimum days, staff development days, holidays, and summer day camps.

Before & After School

Locations:  Poinsettia, Elmhurst, & Rio Del Norte

The Before & After Full Time option is an 11 month payment plan which covers before & after school childcare, minimum days, in-service days & staff development days.

After School Only

Locations:  Poinsettia, Elmhurst, Rio Del Norte, & Loma Vista

The After School Only option is an 11 month payment plan which covers after school childcare, minimum days, in-service days, & staff development days.

Fall/Winter/Spring Camp

Locations:  Poinsettia, Elmhurst, & Rio Del Norte

The Fall/Winter/Spring Camp plans are available when school is not in session.  The payment for each break or session must be made in full prior to attendance.  Participants must enroll for and pay for the full week of breaks; partial session enrollment is not available.

The YMCA childcare program is closed on Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, Christmas, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, and Independence Day.  YMCA childcare sites are also closed the last two days of the school year for staff training & site setup for the Summer Day Camp Program.

Financial Assistance is available from funds through our Current Support Campaign and United Way.
