Everyone did a great job at the Camarillo swim meet. Because there were so few swimmers, the meet went by very quickly. Swimmers did an excellent job getting to their races on time, especially given the short amount of time between events.
Fourth of July
There will be no swim practice or dive practice this Friday, July 4. We hope that everyone has a happy and safe holiday.
Friday Dive Days
Friday dive days at Santa Paula High School will resume the following Friday, July 11. Dive practice will be from 12:00 -1:00 pm, with a single swim practice at the Ventura YMCA from 3:30 – 5:00 pm for all groups.
Also, there is recreational swimming at Santa Paula High School daily from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. The recreational swimming is free to YMCA facility members or $2.00 per day for non-members.
Swim Meet at Santa Paula High School
The next swim meet will be on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:00 am at Santa Paula High School, 404 N. 5th St. Santa Paula.
Directions to Santa Paula High School: Hwy. 126 East, exit Palm, turn left. Go past Main St., turn right at Santa Paula St., and turn left at 5th St. Go through the gates, the pool is on the left, just opposite the baseball field.
Olympic Trials
We received some very exciting news that our own Coach Jeff has qualified to swim at the Olympic Trials in Omaha this week. He will be swimming the 50 and 100 Freestyle. You may see him on USA (Channel 58) Wednesday or Thursday at 8:00 PM.
Upcoming Events
The Montecito meet on July 21st may be changed to July 28th. More info will go out as soon as it is confirmed.

Swim meets are highlighted in blue and special events are highlighted in bold and host teams are underlined. Events where volunteers are needed are listed above. Volunteer sign up sheets will be sent home. Parents are asked to volunteer for one event per season.
Swimmers are asked to compete in 4 meets per season. Please make all attempts to compete in the championship swim meet & participate in the team fundraiser event.
Each swimmer is asked to make a minimum $20 donation each season. This seasons’ fundraiser will be our Dip and Dash Aquathon. More info will be given out the first week of practice.
