Youth Sports Leagues

Check out our exciting leagues designed for boys and girls.  They will feature a weekly practice and a game with emphasis on fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, having fun, and lots of playing time for all! All players receive a team shirt or jersey and an end of season trophy. Our current yearly schedule includes:

SUMMER SPORTS CLINICS

The Ventura Family YMCA is offering a variety of week long sports clinics for children ages 4 - 16. YMCA summer sports clinics are introductory sports programs designed to promote fun and skill
development. Participants will be given instruction on a specific sport or group of sports, receive a nutritious snack and have a great time. YMCA youth programs staff will teach basic sports skills, enforce our Character Counts! Program and model YMCA core values.  

Kickers Soccer Clinic - Three age groups are offered for this fun soccer clinic: ages 6-8, 9-12, &  13-16. Players will practice footwork, ball control, and participate in daily scrimmages and other games.  

Itty Bitty Sports Clinic - For children ages 4-5 and consists of 2 days of soccer, 2 days of basketball, and 1 day of t-ball. Children will learn the basics in three different sports while making new friends and having fun.  

Sports Mix Clinic - Focus is placed on a different sport each day (ages 6-8, 9-12). Participants will be introduced to basic skills related to basketball, soccer, flag football, baseball, and field hockey.

Home School Program

Due to popular demand the YMCA has teamed up with numerous home school programs and parents to provide a variety of activities that allow students earn their P.E. credits while learning a new sport or learning how to swim, all during a normal school day.  Check out the YMCA Program Session Guide for specific classes.

Adult Sports

Racquetball

Do YOU have what it takes to be a Ventura Family YMCA racquetball league champ? Sign up for our YMCA adult racquetball league and find out. Seven weekly matches are scheduled at times convenient to both opponents. League fee for one division is $15 for Ventura YMCA facility and $20 for Ventura YMCA program members. Members of other Channel Islands Association YMCA branches can also participate for $25. All participants receive a cool YMCA league t-shirt. Advanced, Intermediate, Novice, Women’s and Double Divisions are available (divisions may be merged or cancelled due to low enrollment). The league is a good way to make new friends and stay active.

Basketball

Like basketball? The Ventura Family YMCA will offer another session of Open Gym Nights in March 2010. Anyone in Ventura and surrounding communities will have the chance to come shoot hoops and play pickup games for FREE! Open Gym nights are held on Wednesday evenings from 6 p.m - 8 p.m. inside the Anacapa Middle School Gymnasium.

Basketball - Adult 3 on 3 League:   ***UPDATED 2/22 The Ventura Family YMCA will soon offer its first adult 3 on 3 basketball league. League games will be held on TUESDAY nights and Men's and Women's Divisions will be available. Registration begins February 17th.

"Take it to the Court" Basketball Tournament

The Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers of the Ventura Family YMCA and Barristers of the Ventura County Bar Association would like to invite you to participate in the 1st Annual, “TAKE it to the COURT” Basketball Tournament and fun filled Family Day.  Proceeds from the event will go towards the YMCA's Open Doors Program providing scholarships to individuals and families in need. Learn More

Fun & Fitness 5K Walk and Run

The Ventura Family YMCA will be holding its 10th annual 5K run and walk on July 31st. The event proceeds will go towards the YMCA's Open Door Program providing critical support for childcare, aquatics, camping, teen leadership and youth wellness programs for those in the community. Along with the race there will be addition fun activities throughout the day. Learn More
