About YMCA Youth and Family Services Branch
This is an independent branch of The Channel Islands YMCA. YFS is comprised of several programs that are dedicated to bringing quality social services to the people of Santa Barbara and its immediate surrounding areas. Youth and Family Services encompass the following programs: Noah's Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter, Street Outreach Program, Transitional Age Youth Program, Youth Development Outreach Services, and the Isla Vista Teen Center.

Noah's Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter
Our Work This program provides temporary shelter, crisis intervention, drop-in counseling, referral services and telephone crisis counseling to runaway, homeless and at risk youth ages 10-17 and their families.
Our Goals To address and provide comprehensive services on the issues of health, housing and homelessness, employment, education, mental health, independent living skills and healthy relationships to youth in need in Santa Barbara and to youth aging out of traditional systems of support.
Street Outreach operates under Noahs and provides services to homeless youth in Santa Barbara.
Transitional Age Youth also operates under Noahs auspices and provides services to youth who are aging out of traditional service age requirements. This program focuses on youth ages 17-24.

Youth Development Outreach began in 1998 with Adams Elementary School as the pilot Character Counts! school. In 2002 Dos Pueblos High School was the first school to adopt the 40 Developmental Assets in Santa Barbara. Since then Youth & Family Services serves over 27 schools and youth serving agencies and we are the lead and programming agency for the Assets for Santa Barbara Youth Coalition - a 35 member strong Coalition focused on community projects and activities that foster life skills and promote advancement in social competencies beginning with the individual.
Our Work
We base all of our services on 40 Developmental Assets and Character Counts Frameworks as a core foundation in programming. Our services intentionally work to build character and assets in children, youth and adults in our community.
Our Goals
To provide essential life skills, support and empowerment to children, youth and adults based on character development that increase human potential in aptitudes, perspectives and life choices. We focus on building the positive potential in each individual through caring, compassion, equality and respect of all people.
Assets for Santa Barbara Yourh Coalition is lead by Youth Outreach Programs and is a colaition of 40 agencies integrating dservices to provide community projects that enhance the lives of Santa Barbara's community youth.

Isla Vista Teen Center - The mission of the IVTC is to provide a safe space in which to foster the emotional and physical well-being of youth through the development of positive relationships, educational and recreational activities, fostering cultural awareness and self-empowerment. The center promotes academic success and community service to prepare youth for college attendance. As a drop in center, it serves as an alternate to the streets, providing services aimed at reducing high risk behavior such as, gang involvement, teen pregnancy, drug/alcohol abuse and high school drop out.
Hours of operation; Everyday 3:30 - 8:00 pm except Thursdays 3:00 - 7:00pm
