Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday falls on November 27th. Millions of people have come together to champion the causes they believe in. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. When you give to the Y, a mother is supported with childcare and the doors to health and wellness are opened for a potential member. No one is turned away from the Y for inability to pay. Believing that everyone should have the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, the Y nurtures potential and brings people of diverse backgrounds together.
Anyone, anywhere can get involved and give back in a way that’s meaningful to them. There’s no minimum or limit to how people can do good. The Channel Islands YMCA is a charitable organization providing programs based upon Christian principles to men, women, and children of all ages, races, religious beliefs and economic status to develop and enrich the spirit, mind and body.
The Channel Islands YMCA, comprised of branches in Camarillo, Ventura, Montecito, Santa Barbara, Santa Ynez, and Lompoc, values donors’ trust and assurance that donations are being used wisely and effectively to serve and strengthen the community. We recently were awarded a Gold Seal of Transparency from Guidestar, and the highest rating possible from Charity Navigator for demonstrating fundraising best practices.
As our communities evolve, the Y offers programs that tackle new challenges, deliver lasting impact, and empower the community. This giving season, after the consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, join the global movement #GivingTuesday for a better us.
