Why exercise in a group class?
• The relationships you’ll develop in a group exercise class will hold you accountable and motivate you to attend, even on those days you just don’t feel like it!
• While individual workouts have their own rewards, a group exercise class has an instructor who provides instruction, feedback and at times, entertainment.
• Group exercise classes make it more fun to work out every day, allowing you to build your favorite classes right into your schedule.
• The Y has a large variety of classes to choose from, so your workouts will never be boring!
• Group exercise classes at the Y are filled to the brim with folks from all walks of life and fitness levels with one common goal – to be well!

Ashtanga Essentials is specifically designed to introduce the Ashtanga Primary Series with
individual modifications suitable for everyone—even beginners! This class follows the traditional
format of the Primary Series: sun salutations, standing poses, seated poses, and closing sequence
poses. This class is accessible to students of all body types, ages, and experience levels. This class
moves at a moderate to fast pace.
Boot Camp is the class for you, if you are ready to challenge yourself in a fast-paced, calorieblasting
group workout. Using a traditional Boot Camp style approach, you may even find yourself
working outside! Boot Camp is made accessible to all fitness levels and modifications are always
offered for the beginner to the advanced.
BOLD & GOLD is designed for 6-12th grade participants’ looking to be challenged and workout
with a nationally certified instructor, who will guide them through a challenging cardiovascular and
strength training workout twice per week. $5/class (M/F 4:30pm, June 11-August 25).
Cardio Dance is a mixture of rhythms and different dance styles that caters to all levels of fitness.
No previous dance experience is necessary. Each class can be modified to increase or decrease
difficulty. Be prepared to have a blast while getting an incredible workout!
Cycle is a high energy, non-impact aerobic studio cycle ride in a room full of friends. You’ll let your
mind free itself from everyday stress as this class carries you away to an exciting new level of
fitness with the soundtrack of a lifetime encouraging your ride.
Foam Rolling Workshop Come learn about the do’s and don’ts, the how’s and why’s of foam
rolling. Dr. Ryan will talk about why foam rolling should become an integral part of your workout
routine. The talk will be followed by a hands on foam rolling workshop. Come roll with us! $10,
Class held every 3rd Saturday of the month.
Gentle Yoga is a Hatha Yoga class that will allow you to shift from the stress of daily living into an
easeful, more peaceful you.
Kids Yoga is a 30 minute class where children learn the value of movement and stillness for
enhanced focus, self-discipline, and compassion to help others. Through imagination, posture,
dance, and meditation each child builds confidence while respecting the group dynamic. Class
consist of yoga poses and yoga games, designed for children to have fun and learn yoga with a
teacher skilled in working with children of all ages and attention spans. Ages 4-11.
LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is designed to improve the health and day-to-day quality of life for
the country’s growing population of cancer survivors. Participants work with a certified
LIVESTRONG® instructor, twice a week to build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility,
endurance and functional ability.
LIVESTRONG Graduates is a class designed for LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program graduates
who have committed to keep up the workout routine they have learned in the 12 week program.
All graduates are welcome from any LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA program. There is a community
rate fee for non-members. $5/class.
Mat Pilates is a mat science class using a combination of thera-bands, balls, glides and ultra-fit
circles to increase an individual’s full-body strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. The Pilates
system of conditioning is a perfect complement to any fitness training program, and is appropriate
for those nursing minor injuries.
Mat Pilates Workshop is to experience Pilates based mat work exercises that focus on
strengthening and stabilizing the muscles in the lower back and abdominals. Participants will focus
on proper form and technique of exercises. These core training exercises can be used by everyone,
and will enhance total body function by integrating the upper body with the lower body via the
core musculature. $10, Class held every 1st Saturday of the month.
MB Flexibility (Mind & Body) will help you improve your flexibility, posture, balance and body
awareness, while learning to control the negative effects of stress in your body.
Nia (Neuromuscular Integrative Action) is founded on the concept that there is a dancer, martial
artist, and highly aware person within you. This class is an expressive fitness and awareness
movement program. Nia offers an experience that embraces individual creativity, self-inquiry and
Nia Workshop is taught in two parts: Part 1, The Practice, consists of simple exercises that teach
you about The Body’s Way and help you develop knowledge about yourself and body. Part 2, The
Experience, is a Nia workout. This is when you take the knowledge you gained in Part 1 and play
with sensing it in your body. $10, Workshop held seasonally, when noted on schedule.
Pranic Healing is a simple, yet powerful and effective system of no-touch energy-healing
originated and developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. It is based on the fundamental principle
that the body is a self-repairing living entity that possesses the innate ability to heal itself.
Senior Strength invites you to join a community of seniors and active aging adults for a totalbody
workout appropriate for any fitness level. Have fun and move to the music through a
variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion and balance. Light
hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a bender ball are offered for resistance. Class
may incorporate both standing and seated exercises; a chair will be used for seated/standing
support. This class is designed for active aging adults that want to maintain and improve their
T’ai Chi incorporates flowing movements and breath consciousness to achieve mental and
physical health, balance and calm.
TECHNO Circuit is a group strength training circuit class held in the TechnoGym® strength
training room. You will strengthen up with others by working out your body in its entirety. Enjoy
the music and all the energy the group setting has to offer.
Total Body Conditioning (TBC) is a great way to challenge oneself and improve your total body
conditioning. Work every muscle through a series of strength training, cardiovascular training
and endurance exercises, while engaging in a fun empowering class!
TRX® suspension training sessions are group classes with a maximum of 6 participants. This
program uses body weight exercises to build strength, cardio conditioning as well as balance and
flexibility. You control how easy or hard you want to work on any given day. Whether you are an
athlete or just want to get back into shape, we will help you reach your fitness goals. $15/class.
Yin Yoga will wake up, lengthen and strengthen your muscles, body and mind with an
invigorating vinyasa practice followed by a series of floor postures held passively for several
minutes in order to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the deep layers of connective tissue in
the body. It emphasizes stillness and silence, and prepares both the body and the mind for a
deeper experience in meditation.
Yoga I is intended for yoga participants beginning level to advanced who crave feedback on
form, function and techniques of HATHA YOGA.
Yoga II & III will allow you to explore and experience the revitalizing world of HATHA YOGA
with classes offered morning, noon and night (intended for intermediate to advanced students).
Yoga Workshop is an all level workshop designed to allow yoga students to go deeper into
their practice in a comprehensive way. The workshop will include pranayama breathing
techniques, meditation and a wide variety of standard and advanced poses. $10, Workshop held
every 2nd Saturday of the month.
Yoga Mala Workshop is comprised of 108 Sun Salutations practiced in 4 sets consisting of 27
Sun Salutations. It all starts with intention; we are dedicating this Mala to the arrival of Summer
Solstice. In Mala yoga, each breath (vinyasa) is considered a sacred bead, and each movement
(asana) is a fragrant flower strung on the thread of the breath; it is an opportunity to truly feel
the interpretation of yoga as a moving meditation. $10, Workshop held September 23.
ZUMBA® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow dance moves to create a one-of-a-kind
fitness program that will blow you away. ZUMBA® fans achieve long-term benefits while
experiencing an absolute blast in one exciting hour of calorie-burning, body-energizing, aweinspiring
movements meant to engage and captivate your sense of fun and freedom.
ZUMBA® Gold Toning is based on the same dance moves used in our original ZUMBA®
class. The Gold Toning class, however, uses modified movements with dance routines designed for
beginners, older adults and those of us recovering from injury. Light weights are used to enhance
