Healthy Kids Day
School’s out and it’s time to relax, decompress and have fun with friends. Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain more weight and fall behind in studies. Healthy Kids Day is the nation’s largest health day for children and families and Ys across the country host and celebrate this day dedicated to promoting education, activities and experiences that teach good health and foster connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests, so youth and families in 10,000 communities achieve greater health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.
