Born and raised in the Ukraine, Dr. Joseph Bondarenko is a well-known pastor, church planter and an evangelist for more than 50 years, a gifted leader and organizer of massive outreach crusades in the former Soviet Union. Often he was called as “Billy Graham of Russia”. His reputation was established because of his sacrifices for the gospel, but also because he has always been an active leader for the Underground Baptist Church and has done much to take the gospel to the distant parts of Russia, such as Siberia. His love for the people and their struggle is unquestioned.
On three separate occasions, Joseph Bondarenko was arrested and imprisoned in the former Soviet Union for the sake of the Gospel and spent almost 10 years in Soviet Gulags and labor camps. Despite all of the hardships, miraculously he
survived and his faith has never wavered.
Joseph is married to his wife Maria and has 5 grown children and 9 grandchildren. Thanks to his strong leadership, the whole family is involved in the Good Call ministry, an outreach ministry to the people of the former Soviet Union and Bible-based churches, and together they bring hope in Christ to people around the world.
His biography “The KGB’s Most Wanted” will inspire people of age groups to be intentional in achieving their goals despite any obstacles.
