Fitness Classes at the Santa Barbara Family YMCA

Come get a great workout and enjoy the company of your friends! Our wide variety of Group Exercise classes allow you to fit your favorite class into your busy schedule and build relationships with others. Group fitness has many benefits over exercising alone, such as motivation from friends, classes lead by an enthusiastic professional, and working together towards a common goal.

Body Sculpt 

A weighted workout that challenges major muscle groups with squats, presses, lifts, curls and more!

FIT Camp

Achieve A Healthier You! Are you having difficulty staying dedicated to your workout? Do you lack the motivation to do it on your own? We will increase your strength, power and performance. FIT CAMP is recommended for the intermediate adult exerciser looking for accountability, personal improvement and camaraderie. Nationally certified trainers will use integrated training techniques to increase your cardiovascular stamina and improve your strength, mobility and stability. We provide a comfortable non-intimidating environment for a small & personalized group training. Weekly Class Structure: Monday: Muscle Endurance Tuesday: Cardio Endurance Wednesday: Flexibility (Held in Studio 1) Thursday: Cardio & Strength Circuit.

Beginning T’ai Chi

Enhance your endurance in this high-energy class, choreographed to upbeat music for full body exercise with movements on and around a step. For all levels.

A fun, fast paced class which incorporates both cardio machines and weights for a total body workout. The class is designed to keep your muscles guessing by incorporating cardio interval training interspersed with short segments of weight training.

Bodypump 

This is a barbell workout for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. BODYPUMP gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 540 calories*. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.
