Health and Wellness at the Ventura Family YMCA

At the Ventura YMCA, our goal is to help you reach yours. Your fitness journey and progress matter to us, which is why we offer unique health and wellness programs to meet the needs of our members at every age and fitness level.

Adult Fitness

Included in your Membership

SMART Start: Start your wellness journey right this New Year with our SMART Start. You receive up to three free 1-Hour appointments with a Wellness Trainer who will introduce you to our facility and how to use equipment safely. Our Wellness Trainer introduces you to our various strength and cardio equipment and how to get the most out of it. Schedule your first appointment at the Welcome Center.

Activelinxx Set Up: Meet with a wellness trainer to get set up on our one of a kind fitness trainers. This program set you up with the correct weight, range of motion, and settings to get the most out of your strength circuits.

Group Exercise/Water Fitness Classes: We offer over 60 exercise classes to ensure there is something for every fitness level.

Off-site Zumba: We offer Zumba classes on Mondays at 4pm at Hueneme High School and 4pm Wednesdays at Pacifica High School.

Minimal Cost Programs

Small Group Exercise: We offer 14 small group classes that take place in our state of the art outdoor training area. These classes have a maximum of 12 members per class where our trainers provide more individualized training in a small group atmosphere.

Weight Loss Challenge: This 8-week challenge with push you to kick off the new year on the right foot including training sessions, one on one coaching, nutrition guidance, and accountability.

Personalized Programs

Personal Training: Our certified Personal Trainers work with you to plan your fitness goals by creating an individualized program. You receive a personalized program as well as safe instruction and use of various exercise equipment.

Personal Nutrition: Our Health Coaches are here to help you with your nutritional journey. Individual or family sessions are available.

Senior Fitness

Included in your Membership

Y FIT: Whether you have been a long-time fitness enthusiast or have just begun your fitness journey at the Y, we believe establishing attainable goals is critical to your success. Included with your YMCA membership, you receive three one-hour Y FIT sessions with a qualified trainer to provide you with a personalized fitness solution based on your needs a Wellness Trainer will design an individual program, structured just for you!

Senior Day: Each year on National Senior Day, we hold an event all about Seniors! The r=event includes activities, a guest speaker, and health fair! Join us on Wednesday, May 29th!

Group Exercise Classes: We have nine senior based group exercise classes each week including Yoga, Pilates, Silver Sneaker classes and more! See the back for senior-specific classes, or check out full group exercise calendar.

Water Exercise Classes: We have ten water exercise classes each week that are a perfect place to start for any senior. Including AFAP, Gentle Wet, Aqua PLUS. and more! See the back for senior-specific classes, or check out full aquatics calendar.

Personal Training: Our certified Personal Trainers work with you to plan your fitness goals by creating an individualized program. You receive a personalized program as well as safe instruction and use of various exercise equipment.

Personal Nutrition: Our Health Coaches are here to help you with your nutritional journey. Individual or family sessions are available.

Teen and Child Programs

Kids Cardio Club (ages 8-11): A Wellness Trainer introduces your child to our cardio equipment and ensures your child knows how to use the equipment safely. This is included in your membership!

Culinary Kids (ages 5-12): Get your children involved in cooking and healthy food preparation! Studies show that when children are involved in the process of meal preparation they are more likely to try new things.

Teen Orientation (ages 12-13): A Wellness Trainer introduces your teen to our cardio equipment and strength training equipment ensuring your teen knows how to use the equipment safely. These programs are included in your membership.

Teen 360 (ages 12-17): The Teen 360 Fitness Challenge is a holistic, 360-degree fitness, nutrition & body confidence program designed specifically for teenagers.
