Reaching for Stars celebrates its 20th Anniversary of helping local at-risk and homeless youth with an unforgettable evening sure to dazzle.
Prepare yourself for tantalizing dishes prepared by Santa Barbara’s top chefs, paired with fine wines of the region. From elegant passed hors d’oeuvres through the sumptuous five-course dinner, our chefs strive to create culinary masterpieces for your dining pleasure. To enhance the dining experience, there will also be performances by youth, as well as an exceptional raffle and select silent auction. Now in its 20th year, this is an event not to be missed!
Recap of the 20th Annual Reaching for Stars
On May 2 we welcomed our guests to join us for an evening of wines and fine dining at the Santa Barbara Woman’s Club, Rockwood to celebrate and support the life-changing work that the Y’s Youth and Family
Services have done for the community. Vincent Vanhecke, Executive Chef at the Valley Club, recruited a truly amazing team ready to astound and delight us as they donate their time and resources to support our youth, families and young adults. By purchasing a ticket, attendees enjoyed an exquisite meal prepared by star Santa Barbara chefs. Each fabulous course was paired by the chef team to a specific, premium wine from Alma Rosa Winery, Babcock Winery, Brander Vineyard, Buscador, Flying Goat Cellars, and Lumen. Our guests joined us for an epicurean event, filled with heart-warming stories, mouth-watering delicacies and amazing wine.

Youth and Family Services YMCA was formed in 2001 as an independent social services branch of the Channel Islands YMCA. YFS currently operates four core programs that provide a continuum of care to underserved at-risk youth, young adults and families experiencing homelessness, neglect and abuse in the greater Santa Barbara area. Youth, young adults and families that participate in our programs experience greater safety and well-being while they develop skills and lasting relationships to improve their resilience and build a successful independent future.
