About My Home at the Lyons' House

Thanks to the vision and generosity of the Lyons Family and the management of the Santa Barbara Foundation, we have created enhanced "dorm-style" living for nine young adults ages 18-21 exiting foster care. The program will be staffed by a clinical Director, two live-in Resident Assistants, and a clinical Trainee. The house is located in the heart of Santa Barbara, walking and biking distance from Santa Barbara City College, State Street, the Downtown Transit Center, beaches, and much more. It is fully furnished and stocked with essentials. Residents will receive counseling and crisis support, intensive case management, and a schedule of outings, workshops, and house dinners to aid their transitions into adulthood. The goals of the program include developing independent living plans, supporting young adults with job placement and career advancement, advancing their education, and securing stable housing upon exit.
