Volunteer at the Y
The Channel Islands YMCA has been serving Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties for over 100 years. We have the presence and partnerships to deliver vital support to our communities. One of our strongest partnerships is with our volunteers. Volunteers help us deliver our mission to all who seek it. Whether you volunteer to be a board member or to be a counselor at camp, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful change in your community. To sustain this great partnership, staff and volunteers work together in clearly defined roles to advance the Y’s cause.
The YMCA needs the time and talent of volunteers who want to work alongside staff at one-time day of service opportunities and in active program roles like youth sports coaches. Organizational volunteer roles are available in fundraising, committees, and boards. Volunteer requirements and commitments vary per location. The YMCA will try its best to work with you to find a role that meets your volunteer goals, skills, and availability. In order to ensure the greatest safety and security for our kids and members, volunteers must agree to a comprehensive background check and training.
