George Leis, president/COO for Montecito Bank and Trust, has been elected to a two-year term as chair of the National YMCA’s Board of Directors, Channel Islands YMCA has announced.
Leis has served on the Y-USA Board since 2019. As chair, he will provide guidance to the 25-member board, setting national policies to advance the YMCA’s mission of strengthening communities and empowering individuals.
Leis has served on multiple nonprofit boards, including Channel Islands YMCA, Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, and the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.
“George Leis’ election as chair of the National YMCA’s Board of Directors is a testament to his exemplary leadership and dedication to making a positive impact in our communities,” said Margo Byrne, Channel Islands YMCA president/CEO.
