Channel Islands YMCA Mission Momentum, Insights from the President

As we enter this special time of year, I find myself reflecting on the joy, connection, and sense of belonging that fills our YMCA communities. From community tree lightings to our own holiday gatherings, I am inspired by the spirit our members bring to every event. It reminds me of how many lives the Y has touched this year, and the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others that we carry into the New Year.
I also know that holidays can be challenging for many. From those who may be alone this holiday season and vulnerable youth supported by our incredible Youth & Family Services YMCA to the families who rely on scholarships to participate in YMCA programs, this season can bring added stress and uncertainty. I hold close the responsibility we have, as a community organization rooted in belonging, to keep our doors open to those who need us most.
This holiday season, I’m asking for your support. Whether it’s volunteering your time, a donation that is meaningful to you, or simply lending a hand at your local branch, every act of generosity and kindness matters. At the Y, there is no shortage of ways to give back, and each one strengthens the communities we love.
