Thanks to the Camarillo YMCA from myself and other members during this pandemic for providing safe outdoor exercise for all of us. It is difficult for the teachers to move sanitized equipment out to the sport court and return it again after each class and re-sanitize it, but they always maintain their friendly and enthusiastic behavior and seem to love the work they do.
Masks are required to enter the Y facilities, with temperatures taken and questions about COVID asked to all participants, and all exercises are held outside. No showers or changing areas available; only toilets and sinks can be used. The Y is nonprofit organization with community service its priority. Classes and swimming are available now for all levels of exercise. The Y also has an outside gym area, sanitized hourly, with equipment and weights for personal use. This Y is an example of a superior gym which has followed all the rules and cares that we are safe and happy when we exercise.
