Longtime YMCA board member, Jaylon Letendre, is recognized in the Santa Barbara Independent's 37th Annual Celebration of Our Nicest Neighbors.

When emergencies happen, time is of the essence. The groundbreaking safety wearable, Punch Rescue, demonstrated its life-saving capabilities at the Montecito Family YMCA, a branch of Channel Islands YMCA. In a recent incident at the Montecito Family YMCA, a swimmer faced a diabetic emergency when they went unresponsive in the water.

Gabriella Garcia has been elected chair of the Board of Managers at the Montecito Family YMCA, a branch of the Channel Islands YMCA. Garcia brings 15 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit industry, primarily working with vulnerable populations. She is the executive director of Storyteller Children’s Center.

The Stuart C. Gildred Family YMCA will offer a free, 12-week LIVESTRONG wellness program to cancer survivors from Aug. 29 to Nov. 16. 

The Channel Islands YMCA Youth & Family Service (YFS) held their 23rd annual fundraising event titled, Reaching for Stars, at the Cabrillo Pavilion on Wednesday, April 26. The event funds its five-tiered service programs for youth through age 24: Youth and Family Services, Noah’s Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter, St. George Youth Center, My Home, and Haley Street Navigation Center.
